PoP – painted vintage metal tin.

Posted on 28 Dec 2015

When life is tough, you need a product that is tough too – but without the complications.
This is what POP paint offers me! and just one of the reasons why I love it so much.
POP paint was formulated to work on any surface without needing a primer first – and it sticks without any hassle
to even surfaces that you normally would need to prime.
Today I am sharing another of my frugal recycling products all dressed up to vintage goodness.
painted tinI am in the process of remodelling my store room to make it a bit more functional – and in the process my best friend is POP Paint.
I am literally painting everything and anything with POP paint for a colourful feast of creativity.
Here I painted an empty dog food tin and popped some fake greenery inside. A beautiful little plant adding life to even a tired store room.
step 1 – First choose one of the delicious colours you want to use.
step 1step 2 – Remove the label from your tin, then Wash and dry it. Paint a first layer of paint on the outside and let it dry.
step 2step 3 – Paint a second layer to ensure you have a good solid coverage of colour.
step 3step 4 – Lightly sand the outside of the tin using sanding paper.
TIP: Because POP paint has a chalky feeling, some of the chalk will come off when sanding – this is a good thing.
Sand the surface until it feels smooth to the touch and not chalky.
Use a clean soft cloth to wipe it down and remove any chalk dust.
step 4step 5 – Use a stipple brush and add a layer of dark furniture wax.
Then use an old white t-shirt and buff it.
Add a layer of clear wax and buff until it shines. The wax adds a beautiful vintage feel to it, will protect it from getting dirty
as well as make it water resistant so it can be wipes clean at any time.
step 5I decorated my tin by adhering a ribbon and flower to the front using my hot glue gun.
And there I have an instant little holder for plants, pens, paint brushes or any of my other crafting tools.
POP paint truly is amazing!

  • POP paint is a chalk based paint that does not need a primer
  • POP paint has a ultra matt finish, a stylish textural feel and offers old world charm – all in one!
  • It will go onto walls, wood, metal, tin, glass, plastic and paper without any effort or priming needed
  • POP paint comes in 15 amazing fashionable colours
  • Available in 3 different sizes to suit your needs
  • A natural virtually odorless paint suitable for any surface in your home and hobby life
  • The perfect paint for furniture and home decor
The Power to transform your life and home – Happy painting!

Creating can be a wonderful journey and therapy making sense of things where life cannot, and I have tuned my life into this philosophy.
