POP Painted heart with stenciling detail.

Posted on 29 Feb 2016

I love hearts – all kinds, sizes, shapes and made from different products like metal and wood.
last year I bought quite a few hearts in all shapes and sizes. But with their different colours I just couldn’t bring
myself to hang them on a single wall, so I finally decided to paint them in this lovely blue from POP paint.
I also added a bit of stenciling detail as a nice finishing touch.
painted heart 3Here’s how I created my heart…
step 1 – Paint your hearts in 2 layers of POP paint.
painted heart step 1
step 2 – Use a lighter shade of paint to stencil a pattern onto the painted hearts.
painted heart 4 step 3 – Leave the stenciling to dry thoroughly.
painted heart 5step 4 – Lightly sand the edges of the heart. Use an old t-shirt and add some grey wax to the surface.
Use the same t-shirt to buff the wax to a matt sheen. This adds a beautiful French feel to the hearts.

painted heart2As a finishing touch I will use a beautiful twine to hang my hearts – similar to the bow used here.
How perfectly the texture, shade of blue and grey wax work to create a French Country feel and look.

Creating can be a wonderful journey and therapy making sense of things where life cannot, and I have tuned my life into this philosophy.
