POP Paint | Mother’s day breakfast tray

Posted on 21 Apr 2016

With Mother’s day coming up next month we are gearing up to spoil mom with a special breakfast in bed.
But not without a something special up pour sleeves.
This week I used my POP paint to redo an old wooden tray in a striking blue – perfect for my mom who loves blue.tray 1I used
tray 2Step 1 – You will need two colours of pop paint, a wooden tray and some paint brushes.
step 1Step 2 – Paint the entire tray in a layer of Provence.
step 2Step 3 – Paint a layer of Skyfall over the Provence layer and leave to dry.
step 3Step 4 – Use a coarse sanding paper and sand the entire tray. Distress the edges a bot more than the flat surfaces
to reveal the bottom layer of paint.
step 4Step 5 – Use a stipple brush and add a layer of Smokey grey wax.
Work on small portions at a time, applying the wax and then buffing it with a soft cloth.
step 5Step 6 – The wax will look almost silver on the blue and when buffed with leave the painted wood
lightly distressed with a beautiful matt wax feel.
step 6The waxed layer protects and seals the paint with a beautiful french grey look.
