POP Paint | Every last drop becomes a layout.

Posted on 28 Jun 2016

I am known to use every last drop of the things I have. I am really proud to be a frugal person, thanks mostly to my parents
for raising me to be mindful of things and others, but also to my gran for teaching us how to save.
And so it has transposed into my crafting – i think mostly because I love and value everything I have.
“If you can look after the little things, I believe you will have the BIG ones too”

And so came to be this layout 0- using every last drop of my POP Paint.
I had bought this little sample bottle of the prettiest blue ever to paint a tray, and the bottle is empty.
But instead of washing it out…. I did the following
pop paint layoutstep 1 – Mist the empty pot with water. Just a few mists will do.
step1step 2 – Swirl the water around a few times and tip it over onto a clean sheet of cardstock.
step2step 3 – Keep on misting and swirling the water around, diluting whatever paint is left in the pot.
Shake the pot out onto the cardstock creating paint drops across the entire surface.
Now leave it to dry.
step3Once dry, cut the paper into usable pieces and create your layout and a few cards using your unique paint background.
detail3Making your own paper out of left-overs and scraps, will make you feel really good.
detail1Now wash out the pot and use it as a cute storage pot for brads or diamante.
And if you are clever you can collect the empty pots from your friends too and use them in your scrap room as storage.
detail2A quick way of recycling and making something pretty! I would say that today I am the winner – creatively and spiritually!

Creating can be a wonderful journey and therapy making sense of things where life cannot, and I have tuned my life into this philosophy.
