Painted desk cubby – POP paint!

Posted on 24 Dec 2015

I think know that the thing most creative people do apart from making stuff, is organizing stuff!
So it is no surprise that during some quieter times like now, I am taking some time to re-group and re-sort and declutter stuff.
So since I had 2 new desk cubbies that were blank slates I decided to text drive my new POP Paint on them.
And i Love the outcome – vintage and worn just the way I like it but with a new coat of paint.
painted cubby 2step 1 – My cubbies as a clean blank wooden product.
step 1Step 2 – I started off by painting a layer of Merinque.
step 2Step 3 – Then a layer of Latte.
step 3Step 4 – Sand the drawers and housing using a sanding block. Distress the edges that will wear naturally a bit more.
step 5Step 5 – Add a layer of dark wax using an old soft cloth.
step 6Step 6 –  Add a layer of clear wax using a soft cloth.
step 7step 7 – Then buff the wax to a shine and enjoy your hard work.
(yes I am that person that doesn’t paint the bottom of drawers – and that’s OK too)
step 8Products used:
POP Paint 500ml-Latte
pp0515
POP Paint 500ml-Meringue pp0511

So are you ready to add the entire colour palette of POP paint to your crafting stash – I am!
I need some Polar, Zest and Skyfall next!
What are you planning on updating with this amazing new range of paints?
