Microbead magic using the Xyron

Posted on 29 Dec 2014

Ever wondered how you can effortlessly create embellishments for your cards and layouts without the effort? Well the Xyron has all the answers you could look for when it comes to the sticky stuff in scrapbooking.
For my layout I created some Microbead covered circles as embellishments – these are so much fun with lots of texture and interest.
hello weekend single page1

I started off by punching my circles out of patterned paper scraps. The pattern below the Microbeads adds to the effect.

Here’s how
1. Punch your circles to the desired size and papers. Then run your circle through your Xyron machine using the permanent adhesive cartridge.

2. Remove the protective plastic layer and then remove the circle from the backing – the bottom will now be sticky.
layout step 2

3. Place the circle with the sticky side facing up and cover it with microbeads in the colour of your choice.
layout step 3

4. Shake off the excess beads that did not adhere to the circle. Return the extra beads to the container. You can now use your circle on a layout or card as a nice customized embellishment.

Quick and easy with stunning effect! Learn more about the Xyron machine and cartridges by visiting the

Until next time – we hope you are enjoying your holiday with loads of creativity!
