Art journal page | Pop Paint base

Posted on 11 Apr 2016

This week I am sharing a fun POP paint art journal page. POP paint is a wonderful medium to work on.
It creates texture and the colours are amazing to use as a base or to add as an accent.
art journal page - CopyI used the beautiful blue called Provence as part of my base and page prep, and then built my design on top of that using one of my favourite
Chiswick stamps as a focal point.
art journal 1 - CopyStep 1 – Prep your page using gesso, then paint a layer of Provence POP Paint. Leave to dry.
step 1step 2 – Add another layer of paint in a different colour and let dry.
Use gel medium and adhere some recycled rooibos tea bgags to your page.
step 2Step 3 – Use the grungy heart stamp and only ink some of the distressed areas around the outside of the stamp
using a permanent black ink pad. Stamp randomly across your page.
step 3Step 4 – Stamp the heart onto white cardstock. Paint the centre of the heart with pink watercolour paint.
Stamp a sentiment into the pink area and cut out the heart freehand into a circle.
step 4Add some sewing to the circle and adhere it to your page to form the focal point.
art journal 2 - CopyUse black POP paint on a paper cup and stamp circles around the focal point heart.
detail 2 - CopyFinish off your page with more painht splats, additional wording stamping, enamel dots and diamante.
And then scribble a quote in your own handwriting.

Creating can be a wonderful journey and therapy making sense of things where life cannot, and I have tuned my life into this philosophy.
