Accents of gold with Xyron.
Posted on 11 Mar 2015
Welcome to today’s blog post. By now I hope you have invested in one of the wonderful Xyron products from Chiswick. Today I am sharing a quick and easy way of adding gold accents to your crafting projects. I made this layout and added some gold foil accents in a few easy steps using my Xyron.
To add a decorative strip just below my photograph, I used a decorative border punch and punched a paper strip to which I added gold foil for added interest. Have you noticed how popular the gold foiled accents are becoming on printed scrapbooking papers – well now you can add your own foil accents in a few easy steps.
step 1 – punch your paper strip using a coloured patterned paper
step 2 – run your punched strip with the colour face down through your Xyron sticker maker
step 3 – remove the paper strip from the sticker maker. The pink side will now be full of adhesive. Peel off the clear strip and then the paper border strip.
step 4 – Place the punched strip with the sticky side facing upwards on your work surface.
Place a sheet of gold foil on top of the sticky side and flatten with your fingers.
step 5 – Pull off the gold foil to reveal the gold punched strip. I like the fact that some of the colour is still visible through the foiling. This is because of the way the sticker maker adds the adhesive – leaving bits not covered and exposed – the perfect distressed look.
I repeated the same method on a flag i cut from the same pink patterned paper
for the top right hand corner of my layout.
Below my photo strip I added some decorative stamped details using the Flourishes stamp set in black ink.
Beautiful details add a nice finishing touch to my layout.
The delicate die-cut flower and punched border strip compliment each other perfectly.
all you need to create beautiful crafty projects is a few amazing tools from Chiswick – the Xyron range of products are available from your favourite store – ask for it by name and become a foiling pro in a few easy steps.
