Art journal page – butterfly wings!
Posted on 31 Aug 2015
Hi everyone – hope your week has been super creative. Today I am sharing another one of Chiswick’s new stamp sets with you.
I have been working a lot in my art journal lately and this stamp set was perfect to just play around with creating textures and patterns.
I used the dress bodice with the script wings, but don’t you just love the scroll wings too?
I think they can be used on their own too for a fabulous look on a background.
step 1 – stamp the images onto smooth white cardstock using black ink.
step 2 – add some colour to your wings. Add some blue ink to your craft sheet and mist with water. Dip your stamped images into the
repeatedly until you are happy with the colour. Let dry.
step 3 – Cut out the wings. I chose to cut off the tips at the bottom and just make them round.
step 4 – Define the edges of the wings by adding some brown ink around the edges.
Create a colorful background in your art journal.
Arrange the cut out pieces and adhere them to the colored background.
Add some stamped details on the background and some chipboard embellishments to finish it off.
And there you have a fun and colorful art journal page using your new stamp set. What will you do with your stamps next?
