Stamped art journal page – dealing with real life creatively.

Posted on 31 Oct 2017

Art journaling is one of those really therapeutic things we can do to deal with real life. If you haven’t tried it yet – you should!
it is how i deal with things that we want to cry out about social media, but you know you just shouldn’t for whatever reason.
There really is a time and place for saying what you want to, without fear of being judge. And my art journal offers me a safe place to do so.

Today I am sharing this page created on a bit of a black Monday – supporting a cause I am passionate about while fearing for my own safety.
So I penned it down on a colorful background with using some of my favourite Chiswick stamps to help support the theme and message, and to act as a reminder for myself.

I created the background using Peony pop paint and then added yellow ink and blue dye ink sprays. Once the background was dry I added stamping
using my + or cross stamp from the Nifty Digits set.
A covered tag with some stamping on gives some nice texture in the background.

Stamped circles on white cardstock makes for a nice contrast against the colourful background.
I used a gray crayon to add shadows around the circles for extra detail.

A digital file printed onto white cardstock was cut out to add the ‘Monday’ to my page.
To finish it off I added journaling in the form of a scripture verse with some added paint splat details.

I love that I can use my art journaling to deal with real life situations creatively – making sense of real life situations.

Creating can be a wonderful journey and therapy making sense of things where life cannot, and I have tuned my life into this philosophy.
