Recycled bottle into a pretty vase using POP Paint.

Posted on 26 Jun 2017

What to do with pretty bottles? well you turn them into something useful and even prettier using your crafting and painting stash. step 1 – Tape off the top of the bottle with washi tape where you want your painted line to end.

step 2 – On a craft sheet, mix some POP Paint with Gel Medium. I used equal amounts.
The Gel medium helps the paint to spread further, but also makes it turn into a a glue like paint drying quicker.
step 3 – Paint the bottom of the taped off bottle in a nice thick coat and leave to dry.

step 4 – Paint another layer once the first layer is dry.

step 5 – Once your second layer is dry, use a soft cloth and add two layers of burnishing paste.
The first layer is silver and the second layer in gold. Buff to a nice shine.
TIP: The burnishing paste picks up the beautiful texture left in the paint by the paint brush giving loads of interest to the bottle, now turned vase.

And that’s is how you can create something really stunning using your POP Paint.
The perfect project for parties creating your own decor without spending too much money on decor.
All you need is some paint and imagination.

There’s nothing quite as nice as a quick painting project to warm your days during winter. Happy painting!
