Cards | White heat embossing on a colourful background.

Posted on 31 Oct 2016

There is something magical about heat embossing – and white embossing powder is particularly magical.
detail2I created a set of cards using white embossing powder onto a colourful background for a truly magical effect.
My colourful cardstock background was created using inks, paint, mists and sprays as part of a demonstration.
The effect was truly magical and so that sheet turned into a set of cards with striking colours. The white embossing
really pops against the background – truly magical and stunning.

step 1 – Create a colourful sheet of cardstock using ink and paint.
The sheet I used was created while demoing some techniques and products. I loved the colours on this sheet and literally use everything
What better way to use such a beautiful sheet of cardstock.
step 2 – Use your Chiswick stamp set and stamp the images onto the coloured piece of cardstock using Versamark ink.
step 3 – Sprinkle the stamped images with white embossing powder and then heat set the image using your Chiswick heat gun
until the embossing powder is melted.
Trim the embossed piece to the right size and then adhere it to the front of your card.
Use flowers and diamante to finish off your card.

For this card I embossed a chipboard sentiment in white embossing powder to match the white embossing on the card.

For my second card I embossed the beautiful corner swirl on my background and finished off my card with a sticker, a die-cut star and some diamante.
