Texture and paint | Summer card.

Posted on 29 Aug 2016

Welcome to today’s blog post… with the warmer weather we are having lately it seems that I am grabbing warmer shades of ink and paint too.
For today I created a card using texture paste and our lovely Zest coloured POP Paint with stunning results.
detail1I created the background using layers of yellow and gold.
texture cardstep 1 – Add texture paste through a stencil and set aside to dry.
step1step 2 – Paint a layer of Zest POP Paint onto the textured. Mist the cardstock with water first and then paint with the colour.
This helps you apply a thin layer of paint and helps it to blend easily.
step2step 3 – While the paint is still wet, use a gold and dark yellow mist and spray selected areas on the background.
Heat set the ink using your heat gun.
step3
step 4 – Once the background is dry, trim it smaller and adhere to the front of a folded card base.

step 5 – Cut a heart shape out of cardstock and emboss with several layers of gold embossing powder.
Adhere the heart to the card panel and then  decorate with flowers and diamante.
The gold mist leaves a hint of shimmer while the paint and ink creates a gorgeous effect on the texture paste.

Creating can be a wonderful journey and therapy making sense of things where life cannot, and I have tuned my life into this philosophy.
