Shimmering Christmas stocking card.
Posted on 23 Nov 2015
Hello everyone – today I am on the blog with another quick and easy Christmas card with a bit of shimmer added perfect for the festive season.
I always love how the simplest of products combined together can create beautiful effects, and as such new techniques to incorporate into your cardmaking
and scrapbooking pages. So let me show you how I create this fun Christmas stocking for my card in a few easy steps…
step 1 – Add red dye ink onto your crafts sheet.
step 2 – Mist the ink with water to form coloured ink drops.
Step 3 – Dip the die-cut stocking repeatedly into the ink until fully coloured.
Use your heat gun to dry the ink and speed up the process.
Step 4 – Once the ink is dry, lightly press a sponge applicator into Egyptian gold burnishing paste by pouncing the sponge onto the paste.
Use small circular movements and apply the burnishing paste to your coloured stocking.
The paste will darken the ink and also give it a beautiful shimmering effect.
Step 5 – Assemble the stocking by adhering the extra die-cut pieces to the coloured stocking.
Step 6 – Add additional die-cut embellishments, diamante, twine and embossed wording inside the stocking.
Create the front of your card and then adhere the decorative stocking to the front of the card using foam tape.
And there you have a lovely quick and easy card perfect for the festive season – shimmer and all.
