Mottled Dye Ink Background.

Posted on 27 Jul 2017

I haven’t used my Chiswick Dye inks in a while, and this week I once again realized how much fun they are.
The colours are beautiful and an added benefit is the range of pearlescent inks. These inks give a lovely shimmering effect on any project.

step 1 – On a piece of recycled cardboard lightly swipe the dye inks in a circular movement.
Apply two dye inks to the background first.

step 2 – Apply a third colour using the pearlescent green ink. Apply it in the same circular movement.

step 3 – Finish off the last layer by adding Pearlescent Ink Pad – Grey over your base colours.
Use water to add splats to your background and leave it to dry. The water drops create beautiful marks on your dye ink adding loads of interest.

Colour a piece of white cardstock using your dye inks. Once dry die-cut a heart shape out of the coloured cardstock piece.
Adhere the heart to your coloured background.

Add washi tape strips, sewing details and a butterfly rub-on.
Use on a mixed media project or as a greeting card.

Add stamped textures to the background and some white ink paint splatters to finish it off.

Use your Chiswick dye inks to create fun effects in beautiful colours and subtle shimmering effects.

Until next time! happy inking…

Creating can be a wonderful journey and therapy making sense of things where life cannot, and I have tuned my life into this philosophy.
