Masking | Circular themed stamped card.

Posted on 29 Oct 2016

detail1On the blog with this fun circular themed card using stamps and inks. The simplicity of circles are amazing – you can dress them
up dress them, stamp them, ink them, draw them…the possibilities are endless.
cardFor this card I used a punched circle as a template, inked to form my focal element on this card. The inked circle is supported by stamped circles
to create a fun and happy little card.
here’s how…
step 1 – Punch a 3 inch circle out of scrap cardstock. Position the circle onto the front of your card and tack it in place using washi tape.
Use a sponge applicator and ink the circle using the colour of your choice in a dye ink.
step1step 2 – Remove the circle to reveal the stenciled circle.
Position the punch out circle over the inked circle.
step2step 3 – Ink your first stamp and stamp over the circle mask onto the card.
TIP: you can use a small piece of tape to tack the punched circle in place temporarily.
step3step 4 – Ink a second stamp and stamp as in the step above on a different place.
TIP: The punched circle acts as a mask so that you can stamp over the inked circle and the stamped images appear behind the inked circle.
step4step 5 – Remove the mask from your card front to reveal the stamping.
step5
Add some embellishments and a die-cut title to finish off your card.
Add some sewing and washi tape details for added texture and pattern.

Some ink splats, diamante and brads add a nice finishing touch to a simple masked and stamped card for some one special.

How are you inspired by shapes? Use circles in creative ways and push your own limits by being creative without re-inventing the wheel.
Until next time – what are your creative plans this weekend?
