Cup of tea – stamped thank you card.

Posted on 20 Aug 2015

Welcome to today’s blog post with another of the new Chiswick stamp set reveals. I think this may just be one of my favourites…
This stunning menu sign, tea cup, spoon and fork design is really beautiful with all of its amazing detail. I can see so many things I can and will use it for!
How about you – fancy a cuppa tea?
cuppa tea cardthis is what the entire set looks like…and they are so well priced too.
Now if you are stumped by the Menu plaque  -don’t be! I beg you, I can already see it change with a simple stamped panel or printout
to say invitation, recipes for a recipe journal cover, or any other word for that matter. I just love the detail of it so much.
new stampsI created this quick thank you card literally in minutes while having fun with this image.
I love how the colour I added reminded me of a vintage printed iron-stone cup that might have been on-board of the Titanic.
detail 2I first stamped the image onto water-colour paper using a black ink.
step 1My colour I added using my watercolor pencils in shades of blues and then added some brown for that vintage worn look.
To achieve the look, first colour with light blue and dark blue and blend the colour with a brush and water.
Then add some brown scribbles using your brown pencil and blend with your water brush.
step 2Once the image was dry, I cut it out and adhered it to my card background.
The kast step was adding a layer of dimensional glaze to my tea cup portion. I avoided adding glaze to the inside.
Once dry I finished off my card with a stamped sentiment and some embellishments.
detail 3And there you have a gorgeous card using a beautiful tea cup image!
Happy stamping until next time!
